Prof. Jizhong Zhu

South China University of Technology, China

BIO: Dr. Jizhong Zhu is a National high-level talent, a Member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts, Member of the European Academy of Engineering, Member of National Academy of Artificial Intelligence, a Foreign Corresponding Academician of the Academy of Sciences of Bologna, Italy, a Foreign Fellow of ASEAN Academy of Engineering and Technology, an IEEE Fellow, a Foreign Fellow of the China Electrotechnical Society (CSEE Fellow), an IET Fellow, and a Fellow of multiple AI associations. He is a Professor and PhD supervisor at South China University of Technology and a part-time Professor at Chongqing University. He serves as Chair of the IEEE PES Smart Buildings, Loads, and Customer Systems Technical Committee (China) and holds editorial and leadership roles in several international standards and journals. Dr. Zhu worked for over 20 years in the UK, Singapore, and the USA before returning to China in 2016 as a distinguished expert at China Southern Power Grid Research Institute. Since 2019, he has led the Integrated Smart Energy Systems Optimization team at South China University of Technology. He has published over 400 papers, holds more than 30 patents, authored several international books, and received numerousnational and internationalawards, including IEEE International Standards Contribution Awards and the China Southern Power Grid Science and Technology Progress Special Prize.


Speech Title: Application of Artificial Intelligence Technology in New Power Systems

Abstract: This report mainly presents partial application achievements of artificial intelligence technologies in the power and new energy industry. It consists of three parts: multi-scale wind-solar-load power forecasting based on deep learning networks, AI-empowered operation, scheduling, and control of new power systems, and system monitoring and secure operation oriented toward cyber-physical-social integration. The application of AI technologies in new power systems is in its infancy (or just beginning to rise). Future work will focus on a three-layer mixture-of-experts forecasting architecture based on large models to create expert clusters with autonomous evolution capabilities, establish a federated expert distillation pool for cross-scenario knowledge sharing, and realize the effective transformation of human knowledge into computable paradigms. Furthermore, by integrating multi-source heterogeneous data with deep reinforcement learning, a dynamic adaptive scheduling framework will be constructed to achieve real-time optimal decision-making and proactive risk prevention/control under multiple uncertainties. Additionally, an intelligent attack-defense system featuring cross-domain heterogeneous data fusion will be developed, along with a dynamic evolution model of attack chains, to form an integrated "detection-isolation-recovery" self-healing security operation mechanism.

Prof. Marc A. Rosen

Ontario Tech University, Canada

BIO: Dr. Marc A. Rosen is a Professor of Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering at Ontario Tech University (formerly University of Ontario Institute of Technology) in Oshawa, Canada, where he served as founding Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science. Dr. Rosen has served as President of the Engineering Institute of Canada and of the Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineering. He has acted in many professional capacities, including Editor-in-Chief of various journals and a Director of Oshawa Power and Utilities Corporation. With over 70 research grants and contracts and 900 technical publications, including numerous books, Dr. Rosen is an active teacher and researcher in sustainable energy, sustainability, and environmental impact. Much of his research has been carried out for industry. Dr. Rosen has other areas of expertise, including the following: exergy analysis, heat transfer, thermodynamics, integrated energy systems, modelling and simulation of energy systems, renewable energy, thermal energy storage, and phase change materials for battery cooling. Dr. Rosen has worked for such organizations as Imatra Power Company in Finland, Argonne National Laboratory near Chicago, the Institute for Hydrogen Systems near Toronto, and Ryerson University in Toronto, where he served as Chair of the Department of Mechanical, Aerospace and Industrial Engineering. Dr. Rosen has received numerous awards and honors, and he is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, the Engineering Institute of Canada, the Canadian Academy of Engineering, the Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineering, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the International Energy Foundation.

Prof. Hexu Sun

Hebei University of Science and Technology, China

BIO: HexuSun is a Doctor of Engineering, doctoral supervisor, Fellow of the Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering, a high-level talent of Hebei Province, and a recipient of the State Council Special Allowance. He serves as a supervisor of the Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering, Honorary Chair of the Hydrogen Energy Industry and Equipment Professional Committee of the Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering, Honorary President of the Hebei Society for Electrical Engineering, Chief Expert of Hebei Province’s Wind Power Industry Technology Roadmap, Director of the Hebei Provincial “Wind Power Coupled Hydrogen Production Engineering Center,” an outstanding provincially appointed expert in Hebei Province, a middle-aged and young expert with outstanding contributions in Hebei Province, the leading talent of the innovation andentrepreneurship team under Hebei Province’s “Giant Plan,” and a Senior Member of IEEE. He has previously served as Deputy Party Secretary of Hebei University of Technology, President of Hebei University of Science and Technology, Vice President of the Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering, President of the Hebei Society for Electrical Engineering, Director of an Engineering Research Center under the Ministry of Education, leader of a national automation teaching team, and a member of the first and second Automation Teaching Steering Committees of the Ministry of Education.

Prof. Badong Chen, 

Xi'an Jiaotong University, China

BIO: Badong Chen is a professor at the Institute of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, Xi 'an Jiaotong University and a Yangtze River scholar of the Ministry of Education. In 2008, he graduated from Tsinghua University with a doctorate in computer science. The research fields include machine learning, artificial intelligence, brain-computer interface, and robotics. He has published more than 300 academic papers in internationally renowned journals and conferences, and the papers have been cited more than 15,000 times. More than 30 national invention patents were authorized and 6 academic monographs were published. He was included in the list of top 2 % scientists in the world and Elsevier 's list of China 's highly cited scholars. He won the first prize of natural science of the Ministry of Education, the first prize of natural science of the Chinese Society of Automation, and the young scientist award of the Chinese Society of Automation. He is the director of the Chinese Cognitive Science Association and an editorial board member of IEEE TNNLS / TCDS / TCSVT. He presided over the key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the key support projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the key projects of the joint fund, the 973 plan project, the national key research and development plan project and other scientific research projects.

Prof. Ning Sun

Nankai University, China

BIO: He is a Professor, PhD Supervisor, and Deputy Director of the Strategic Development Department at Nankai University / Nankai University Shenzhen Research Institute. He is also an Adjunct Professor at Shenzhen Hetao College. He has been recognized as a Young Changjiang Scholar, a Baosteel Outstanding Teacher, a Tianjin Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars awardee, and a Foreign Special Researcher of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS). His research focuses on robotic intelligent control and its applications. He has presided over key projects, joint key projects, and general projects (2 projects) of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), as well as two projects under the National Key Research and Development Program of China.

Assoc. Prof. Ata Jahangir Moshayedi

Dongguan University of Technology, China

BIO: Dr. Ata Jahangir Moshayedi (from Iran) received his Ph.D. in Electronic Science from Savitribai Phule Pune University, India. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE, a member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), and a Life Member of the Instrument Society of India and the Speed Society of India. He actively contributes to the global academic and research community through his extensive involvement as a reviewer, editorial board member, and technical committee member for numerous international journals and conferences. Over recent years, Dr. Moshayedi has delivered more than 50 invited keynote speeches and academic presentations at international conferences and research events. His innovative contributions have also resulted in significant intellectual property achievements, including three granted patents and seventeen registered software copyrights in China.

Lei Wang, Deputy Chief Engineer for Electrical Engineering

Tsinghua University Architectural Design & Research Institute Co., Ltd., China

BIO:Lei Wang graduated from Tsinghua University. Since 1994, he has been engaged in architectural electrical design at Tsinghua University Architectural Design & Research Institute. He is a registered electrical engineer. He serves as a director of the Architectural Electrical Engineering Design Branch of the China Exploration & Design Association, a member of the Indoor Lighting and Design Committee and the International Exchange Committee of the Chinese Lighting Society, and a member of the National Technical Committee on Lighting Electrical Standardization, among other positions. He has published numerous papers in professional journals and at international conferences. He participated in the compilation of the Code for Electrical Design of Educational Buildings. As the Chinese representative to the Indoor Division of the International Commission on Illumination (CIE), he joined the TC3-52 Technical Committee on Energy Performance of Buildings and has been conducting related research.

As a project leader and principal designer, he has completed many large- and medium-scale projects, including the Beijing Shooting Hall for the 2008 Olympic Games, which won the National Excellent Engineering Survey and Design Award; Tsinghua Medical School, which won the National Excellent Engineering Survey and Design Industry Award; Dandong First Hospital, which won the National Excellent Engineering Survey and Design Award; and the School of Information Technology Project of Tsinghua University, which won the Ministry of Construction Excellent Survey and Design Second Prize. For his work on the Beijing Shooting Hall for the 2008 Olympic Games, he received the Beijing Olympic Engineering Planning, Survey, Design and Mapping Industry Outstanding Individual Award.

Tianjin University Architectural Design and Planning Institute Co., Ltd., China

BIO: Ying Han graduated from Tianjin University with a major in Power System and Automation. He serves as the Chief Electrical Engineer of Tianjin University Architectural Design and Planning Institute Co., Ltd. and Vice Dean of the Institute of Smart Energy and Green Low-Carbon Development. He has published 21 papers.

He is a Dual-High Expert of the Building Electrical Branch of the China Exploration & Design Association, a director of the National Building Electrical Design Technical Exchange and Information Network, a member of the Third Building Electrical and Intelligent Forum of the Higher Education Branch of the China Exploration & Design Association, and an executive member of the Building Electrical Professional Committee of the 13th Council of the Tianjin Architectural Society, among other positions.

Chairman / Chief Engineer Weiwei Sun

Tianjin Zhongli Shendun Electronic Technology Co., Ltd., China

BIO: Weiwei Sun pioneered a number of technologies in the lightning protection industry, including fuse-combination technology, multi-level integration technology, and lightning protection chip degradation analysis technology. Under his leadership, the technical team developed a series of products, and the intelligent lightning protection system he invented has become an industry benchmark. In the low-voltage electrical sector, he explored and summarized a complete theoretical framework for smart electrical systems based on the objective patterns of power distribution and electricity consumption. Guided by this theory, he led the R&D team in developing new technologies and products such as intelligent power distribution systems and IoT terminal systems, helping drive the industry toward intelligent development. He has published 18 papers and received one third prize for Scientific and Technological Progress in Tianjin. He serves as a Dual-High Expert in the Building Electrical Industry of the China Exploration & Design Association, an executive director of the Building Electrical Branch of the China Exploration & Design Association, a member of the Electrical Branch of the China Association for Building Energy Efficiency, a member of the Electromagnetic Compatibility Branch of the Chinese Institute of Communications, and a vice chairman of the Academic Committee on Building Lightning Protection of the Architectural Society of China.

Prof. Xiaoming Liu

Hebei University of Technology, China

BIO: Xiaoming Liu holds a PhD in Engineering and is a second-level professor and doctoral supervisor. She serves as a member of the Higher Education Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education (Electrical Engineering), President of the Tianjin Electric Engineering Society, and Vice Chairman of the Smart Manufacturing Federation under the Tianjin Association for Science and Technology. She has received honors including the Ministry of Education New Century Excellent Talents award, the National March 8th Red Banner Holder (2009), Distinguished Professor of Tianjin, and Distinguished Professor of Liaoning. Her research areas include intelligent electrical apparatus and systems, modern electrical apparatus design and application, and high voltage and insulation technology.
